Yet surprisingly, our take home after rent and expenses didn't match all of the hours we had devoted to our clients. On top of that it seemed we were always filling out insurance forms, requesting authorizations retroactively and resubmitting paperwork again and again for reimbursement. Patient billing was clearly our greatest headache and source of incalculable frustration.
In a couple of years we bought the practice from the original owners and it was then we discovered that in just the past two years, over $120,000 in outstanding insurance payments and co-pays had never been collected!
